By accepting or maintaining a Tester position with Team GoldenEye: Source you agree to do the following:
Attend at least 2 tests each month. The normal testing time is 6 PM EST on Saturdays, and it can run for up to 2 hours.
- The attendance requirement is more of a running average than a strict rule.
- Exceptions are made for extenuating circumstances and life events if notice is provided in a timely manner, but you are generally expected to prioritize the test over recreation and relaxation. If you're consistently making other commitments at the same time as the test that will be taken as a sign your priorities are elsewhere.
- During tests you are expected to make your best effort to be polite and fair to your fellow testers. This doesn't necessarily mean you need to carefully evaluate everything you say or even eliminate all friction between yourself and other team members. It just means you generally need to be aiming to solve problems instead of creating them.
Represent the team in public.
- In official GE:S spaces (public discord, forums, website, etc), and when you could reasonably be assumed to be representing the team, behave at least semi-professionally. Don't get in fights, don't act hostile towards anyone without cause or without intending to follow up with adminstrative action, and don't disparage the game, GE:S community, or other team members (fair criticism of the game is fine when done tactfully)
- In GE:S adjacent spaces (GE:S community discords, communities with a heavy GE:S presence, etc) where you are not soley representing the team, you are still expected to be at least respectful towards the project, and have a baseline respect towards your fellow team and community members.
- Regardless of where you are, maintain and do not misrepresent the official position on important issues. Do not speak for the team, explicitly or implicitly, unless you are accurately conveying the team's actual position.
Do not disclose development related information.
- Do not disclose to members of the public, or discuss in public, in-development assets or plans that have not been publicly presented.
- Exceptions to this are if you've been given explicit approval by either your lead or the creator of said content.
- Do not discuss internal GE:S discussions or conflicts outside of internal spaces.
If you fail to consistently uphold these standards your access to team resources may be terminated without warning.
Depending on the reason, discharge from the team does not prevent being on the team again in the future, but circumstances will play a large role in how easy it is to return.
You are being offered a position of trust and influence, treat it with respect.
